How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Chimes Crane Hire (Pty) Ltd ("Chimes", "we", "us") is a mobile crane hire, rigging and specialised transport company based at Nasmith Avenue, Jupiter Industrial, Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
We collect information in two ways:
When analytics or advertising cookies are active (see the Cookies section below), we may automatically collect: pages viewed, general device/browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and which campaign or search term brought you to the site (UTM parameters / Google Ads click ID). We do not use this to identify you personally.
We use a cookie consent banner that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is remembered on this device until you clear your browser storage. Nothing in the "Analytics" or "Advertising" categories below runs unless you accept.

We rely on your consent for newsletter sign-up and for analytics/advertising cookies. For quote requests and direct enquiries, processing your details is necessary to respond to the request you've made of us (legitimate interest / pre-contractual necessity).
We do not sell personal information. Where analytics/advertising cookies are active, data is shared with Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads) acting as our processor, subject to Google's own privacy and data processing terms. We do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law.
Quote and enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up, or for as long as we have an ongoing business relationship with you. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings for our account.
